Cocoon Family Connections
The mission of Cocoon Family Connections is to provide low cost, high quality
enrichment opportunities to young children, educational forums to
parents, and a social support group for both parents and children in the mountain communities of Denver, Colorado.
Current Offerings
Butterfly Play Time
meets every Wednesday morning from 9:00-12:00 (10:00 – 12:00 during
summer months). This dynamic group of parents and their 0-5 year olds
meets at the toddler park at Colorado Blvd. and 7th Ave. or the Carlson Elementary playground during warm
weather and at the United Church at Colorado Blvd. and 13th Ave. across
from Carlson Elementary during cooler months. These are informal
meeting times that allow children to interact with one another and
adults to enjoy some conversation.Story Time at Idaho Springs Library happens every Thursday from 10:00 - 10:45. This is a great way to introduce your child to the local library. Stories are chosen and read by your favorite Idaho Springs Librarians. Come ready to sit with your child and explore the wonderful world of books.
Little Tykes Hiking Group is for young ones ages 2-5 along with their caregivers, who enjoy exploring the outdoors. This group will meet alternating Tuesday and Thursdays throughout the summer anywhere between 9-10 am. All hikes vary in length from .5- 1.5 miles and take place in Evergreen, Floyd Hill, Idaho Springs (Hwy 103) and surrounding areas. All hikes will be posted on the internet Friday of the week preceeding the hike by 6 pm. Call 303-567-4297 or click on the calendar for more information.
